Iris-capsular capture

With a capsularhexis of 5mm, simultaneously capture, dilate and stabilize both the iris and capsule. Increasing safety and effectiveness of current iris expansion techniques. Providing stabilization and suspension of the lens capsule in cases of weak or missing zonules or capsular instability.

Indications for Use

The Xpand X1 is a single-use iris speculum designed to safely expand the iris without pinching the pupillary margin. Other IFU include: IFIS, Nucleus Microchip Migration, Missing or Weak Zonules and Unstable Anterior Chamber.

The Ring

Forged from Nitinol, the low profile Xpand allows for instrumentation to pass over the device without obstruction. Its speculum design creates a 6.7mm near-circular dilation, cupping the iris and/or capsule, eliminating any potential to pinch.

The Injector

Our Ready-Loaded injector system reduces preparation for insertion by surgical team. Easy-Release manipulator tip eliminates device hang and helps guide the ring. Delivered through a 1.8mm or greater incision.
